Nintendo 3DS.
The Nintendo 3DS which will be released and available for purchase on the 25th of March 2011 is Nintendo's newest (and by far the coolest) portable game console. The Nintendo 3DS isn't just any game console, it's a game console with the ability to produce "3D effects without the need for any special glasses". Over the years I've been thoroughly annoyed because of the Nintendo DS' frequent upgrades. Not because they're not good, but because they're so much better than mine(first generation DS)!!
This 3DS comes in at a RRP of £229.99, quite a steep price, but come on! IT'S 3D. Like the previous models it has two screens but the top screen can a 3D effect without any glasses (autostereoscopic), and the bottom is a touch screen (not 3D unfortunately). It will support wi-fi with enhanced security and THQ claims that the 3DS features sophisticated anti-piracy technology which should reduce video game piracy, which has steadily increased since the creation of the cheap flash memory and the rise in illegal file sharing (of course, being chinese I've got one of these (don't arrest me!); also typically chinese, it's already broken). The console includes a cradle which not only allows for faster downloads and uploads, but will also serve as a charger. There have been several additions made to the orginal design of the DS, including a slider on the side of the device that adjusts the intensity of the 3D effect, the "Circle Pad" (a round nub analog input), an accelerometer, and a gyroscope. The 3DS has two cameras on the outside, which can take 3D photos, and another on the inside facing the player, unfortunately this only takes 2D photos but can also capture 2D video! If you haven't already got a DS then now would be the time to invest in one, it doesn't get much better than this.
The new Nintendo 3DS in Aqua! It measures 134 mm x 74 mm x 21 mm. |
I haven't really read up on these as I have an old DS anyway, but a 3d camera sounds totally awesome, although I guess you would only be able to view it as 3d on the DS, which kinda limits the fun!
ReplyDeleteyeahh i guess that is kinda disappointing :(
ReplyDeleteunless if you wear 3D glasses :)
still i'd love to try one!
