Showcase Sunday #2.

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea. Its aim is to showcase your newest books and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week. If you'd like to join, click here.

Library:

The Thread by Victoria Hislop
The Secret Circle: The Initiation and The Captive Part 1
The Secret Circle: The Captive Part 2 and The Power
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

So I'm way behind the times and still haven't started any of Maggie Stiefvater's books! I've heard they're really good so I'm looking forward to reading them when I get the chance. I was recommended The Thread by a friend and although it's not the sort of book I usually read, I'm hoping that I'll enjoy it. Victoria Hislop's other book, The Island, is also on my TBR pile as it's on the Daily Telegraph's Top 50 list, which I am slowly (make that very slowly) making my way through. I thought I'd have a look at L J Smith's other series, The Secret Circle, as I am a fan of the TV show which was unfortunately cancelled after it's first series (review here) and her better known series, The Vampire Diaries. The cover's aren't that great but I'm hoping the content is just as good as her earlier works.

Ebook Downloads:

Fifty Shades Trilogy by E L James
A Song of Ice and Fire Series by Geroge R R Martin

I finally got my Kindle fixed (yay!) so I downloaded these two series which I've been dying to read. If you've been following my reviews you'll know that I am recent fan of Game of Thrones the TV series (review here) and as books are usually better than their screen adaptions I just know I'm going to love this series. As for the Fifty Shades Trilogy, well, I've heard a lot about it, but I never actually knew what it was about. The other day, I finally decided to google search it and found that it was actually erotic fiction that was originally written as Twilight fan fiction and I found this pretty intriguing so I'll give it a shot.

For review:

Taste by Kate Evangelista
Arson by Estevan Vega
Moa by Tricia Stewart Shiu
Statue of Ku by Tricia Stewart Shiu
Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard
Charity Moon by DeAnna Marie Kinney

So I have a few more books to review this week, some are books from book tours I'm participating in soon, some were sent by the authors. Here, there's a mix of coming of age, paranormal, romance, spirituality, flesh eating zombies and more!

I think (I hope) that's all for this week. I haven't even finished reading last weeks pile yet so I'm sort of drowning in books at the moment. This weeks haul is slightly more interesting than the last, at least, it has more YA/paranormal books which is my favourite genre (yes, I'm a stereotypical teenage girl).

What's everyone else got lined up for this week? Also if you've read any of the above books let me know what you though of them and leave the link for your reviews!
Leave me the link to your Showcase Sunday and I'll go check it out :)

    Amazing haul!

Shiver and Linger! I must admit I didn't feel the love for Shiver myself but I'm going to try and read Linger this month so hopefully I like that one better.
I'm so jealous you got Taste by Kate Evangelista. I've been dying to get my hands on that one but can't afford it right now. Enjoy!

    Here's my Showcase Sunday!

  4. Oh :( That's a shame.. I'm hoping I like the series but I'm not really expecting it to make it onto the list of my favourite books ... That's a shame about Taste! There seem to be lots of blogs giving it away at the moment so maybe you can win a copy! ^^

Thanks for following! I followed back :))

The Secret Circle was fantastic! I read it a couple of years ago and really enjoyed them!. Enjoy all your books!

  10. The Secret Circle books are really good, Shiver is the best out of the series, I lost interest with the rest of the books.
Another good Maggie Stiefvater book is The Scorpio Races
