In Time.
In Time is about Will Salas (Timberlake), who is falsely accused of murder and so he makes it his mission to bring down the corrupt system where time is money - literally. On his way he meets Sylvia Weis, daughter of the richest man in the world (i.e. man with the most time) and he takes her hostage to get back at her father - who he thinks is one of the reasons why his mother is dead. Will and Sylvia are from completely different social classes and they must learn from each other and put these differences aside in order to save the people of the poorest district.
There's quite a strong cast starring in Time with Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Alex Pettyfer, Olivia Wilde, Ethan Peck, Johnny Galecki, Vincent Kartheiser and many more. Whilst I would agree that this isn't the best work of any of these talented actors it is by no means the worst either. Justin Timberlake plays the role of Will Salas, a serious, moral and driven young man. Perhaps JT could've brought a little more depth to his character but his performance wasn't half bad considering the last few movies he's done have been comedies. Amanda Seyfried could come across as a silly little girl in this movie, but then again, she plays the daughter of the 'richest' man in the world, so that's exactly who she was meant to be. By the end of the movie she has developed into an independent young woman and I think she plays the transition from delicate little bird to strong and brave lioness very well. The supporting actors also brought quite a lot to this movie and were probably better than the two protagonists. We only saw short snippets of them, but these were probably the most exhilarating and most exciting points of the movie and they really thread the whole film up nicely.
Personally, I thought In Time was a great movie with an interesting plot behind it; however, I was shocked to find that Rotten Tomatoes only gave it a rating of 36% and there were many bad reviews of this film. Now thinking about it, this movie could've been a lot better given that I thought it had such a strong idea behind it, but it definitely wasn't that bad. This movie moves backwards and forwards and sometimes I suppose it doesn't really feel like you're moving anywhere, but the fundamental basis of this movie is that time is precious and it should not be wasted. I also think it's a comment on society and just how corrupt and selfish some of the very richest people can be whilst others are dying. I would definitely recommend this one of a kind movie with a unique, never seen before plot line.
