What's Hot? Books.
Waiting on Wednesday #1.
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This is What's Hot?'s first Waiting on Wednesday, and there are so many titles to choose from. After thoroughly browsing through some YA upcoming releases, I have decided on Something Like Normal. This story seems unique and isn't something that I would normally read, which is probably why I picked it.
Title: Something Like Normal
Author: Trish Doller
Expected publication: June 19th 2012 by Bloomsbury USA Childrens
Goodreads Summary: When Travis returns home from a stint in Afghanistan, his parents are splitting up, his brother’s stolen his girlfriend and his car, and he’s haunted by nightmares of his best friend’s death. It’s not until Travis runs into Harper, a girl he’s had a rocky relationship with since middle school, that life actually starts looking up. And as he and Harper see more of each other, he begins to pick his way through the minefield of family problems and post-traumatic stress to the possibility of a life that might resemble normal again. Travis’s dry sense of humor, and incredible sense of honor, make him an irresistible and eminently lovable hero.

It sounds real sweet. I think the idea of someone coming home and everything being different is a really intriguing idea for a story. Thanks for sharing :)

I saw the cover for this book and just mentally filed the book under, "Will not read". It just didn't seem like my kind of book- it seemed like a purely romance book. Yay for bloggers, because after seeing what this book is actually about, now I want to read it. I think the publisher made a mistake with this cover.
