Waiting on Wednesday: Tape by Steven Camden

Waiting on Wednesday #26

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title: Tape
Author: Steven Camden
Publication Date: 30th January 2014
Publisher: HarperCollins Children's Books
Goodreads Summary: Record a voice and it lasts forever…

In 1993, Ryan records a diary on an old tape. He talks about his mother’s death, about his dreams, about his love for a new girl at school who doesn’t even know he exists.

In 2013, Ameliah moves in with her grandmother after her parents die. There, she finds a tape in the spare room. A tape with a boy’s voice on it – a voice she can’t quite hear, but which seems to be speaking to her.

Ryan and Ameliah are connected by more than just a tape.

This is their story.

{ Thoughts }

The synopsis and book cover remind me a lot of Eleanor & Park because it's got that old-school, blast from the past vibe about it. The plot summary really doesn't give away much but I hope this is going to be a good read. It seems like a moving story and I'm interested to see if it will be about romance, friendship, family or something else. Hope I manage to get a copy of this soon!
