Bought:

The Bling Ring by Nancy Jo Sales
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin
A Dance with Dragons

So last Friday I sat my French A-Level which I need an A in to get into university and it went AWFULLY (putting it mildly), so of course, I ran to the nearest bookstore and grabbed a load of books to make myself feel better. SO excited to read the Game of Thrones series though I didn't realise it was quite so long! I only have about 2/3 of the series and it's taking up a whole shelf on my bookshelf! Also really glad I picked up these John Green books because I've been meaning to read them ever since TFIOS came out. Plus all three of my John Green books have matching covers now so yay! Thought The Bling Ring was fiction when I picked it up, but turns out it's non-fic. Should be an interested read anyhow because I'm really curious as to how these teenagers pulled off so many robberies!

For review:

The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid
What a Carve Up! by Jonathan Coe

I actually got these books a while ago, but I forgot to post them so here they are. I received two books from Penguin's new range of 'Street Art' covers. They are basically a line of modern classics that have had their covers revamped and whilst they're not exactly to my taste, they do grow on you. I've already read and reviewed The Reluctant Fundamentalist here but I have yet to start What A Carve Up! Neither of them are the sorts of books I would pick up ordinarily but I like to branch out every now and again.

Gifted:

Les Miserables (French ver.) by Victor Hugo
The 5th Wave (signed!) by Rick Yancey

I received a belated birthday present this week, which was Les Mis in French! It's even bigger than the English version believe it or not and seeing them both together on the shelf kinda makes me want to spew but - challenge accepted. I also went to a Rick Yancey event at Penguin HQ London last week which was FRICKIN AWESOME!!! I got to ask Rick a question before the event as part of Spinebreakers' interview video which should be up soon and then listen to him being interviewed again as part of the main event. He is so darn funny I think I'm going to go and buy all 12 of his other books asap. For going to this event, I received a SIGNED COPY OF THE 5TH WAVE - hell yeah!!! Might be running a giveaway soon to give away my non-signed copy (sorry guys), so look out for that! Also look out for my post about the event which should be coming.. soon.

So this week has been very exciting for me - what about everyone else? Leave your links below :)

  5. I was gifted Inferno last week. Was a good read though a bit elaborate at times. Need to pick up a Rick Yancey sometime soon.
