I'd never heard of this series before today  but it sounds rather interesting so I think I'll check it out. This is the fourth installment and I have absolutely no idea what has happened in the previous books but it sounds really good. I love stories to do with the impossible becoming possible and overcoming immense difficulties so I hope this lives up to my expectations.

Just in case you were wondering, I haven't forgotten how to use the Caps lock button, the title of this book is just in small letters. Speaking of the title, it really irritates me when books have titles such as this one because I'm a grammar freak and it just doesn't look right even though it makes sense in the context of the book.

Judging from the title, you'd think that this was a story all about a girl who dances, but it's actually so much more than that. I wasn't prepared for a creepy stalker story at all and I was really surprised by how creeped out I was by the some events in this book. This story is filled with suspense, right from the beginning to the end and you have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next. There were several points whilst reading that I convinced myself that I knew what was coming and that I knew who the stalker was, but then something would happen to completely change everything I thought I knew and I was right back to square one.

It's written from the first perspective so you read all of Ali's thoughts which made everything more dramatic because life is pretty damn scary from the point of view of the stalkee. I wasn't particularly fond of any of the characters in this book, Ali included, however, I do think that the writing was pretty good. I could feel all of Ali's panic and that drew me into the action of the book and made my heart pound alongside hers.

I didn't particularly like the bits in this book that were about dancing. I didn't feel like there was any real emotional connection in those pages and being a dancer myself it lacked the magic I was hoping for. On the plus side, the creepy, stalker parts of the book were excellent and instilled a real sense of fear in me. The parts of the book that involved friendship or love weren't particularly interesting and the first part of the novel is largely preoccupied with these themes so it can take a while to get into the good stuff.

On the whole, I found this book to be pretty average. There are lots of twists and turns towards the end and the suspense really keeps you on your toes; however, I just wasn't that taken with this book. I'm not a particularly big fan of suspense novels and yet those bits were favourite parts of the book which must show something. Despite being titled 'dancergirl', the parts to do with dancing were my least favourite so I think there was something slightly amiss here. If you're a fan of young adult suspense novels then by all means give this a try but I don't think this book is anything to rave about.

Showcase Sunday #16. 

I really wasn't looking forward to Glee season 4. There's always a problem when the characters of a good drama graduate from high school - do you end the show there and leave it short and sweet or do you let it continue for several more seasons as the characters move into college? The likes of 90210 and Gossip Girl opted for the later option, though whether or not this was a good idea is debatable. Sure, they still have huge numbers of viewers and they are both still two of the most popular teen dramas today; however, you cannot deny that the story lines have been regurgitated over and over again to the point where many of the shows' original viewers have given up on them. I feared that the same would happen to Glee, but at a much faster rate. Glee did not seem like the sort of series that would survive outside the bounds of high school given that the story is basically about the underdogs at high school, but I was very much surprised by this brilliant premiere episode.

Has Rachel found herself a new beau?

Season 4 began with a good punchy kick. We see Rachel in her first dance lesson at NYADA with none other than Kate Hudson starring as her teacher! The fact that we start off with Rachel in NYADA is a clear indicator that she is still going to be a big part of season four which is a huge relief. At the end of series 3 I vowed never to watch glee again should they scrap all the major characters e.g. Rachel, Finn, Kurt etc though the majority of them are still hanging around in one way or another. Both Finn, Mercedes and Santana were missing from the premiere episode though creator Ryan Murphy has reportedly said: 'they're all coming back', so we'll be seeing them all at some point in the future.

There are some fresh faces that have been added to the New Directions, including Jacob Artist as Puck's half brother Jake and Melissa Benoist as Marley Rose. Both of these new additions have extraordinary voices that will no doubt bring even better music to Glee season 4. Every single Glee character is different and unique and that hasn't changed in season 4. We haven't had the chance to see much of what the new characters are really like, but I've seen enough to know that they'll bring something new to the series to make it even better. There's also a new hottie in town with Dean Geyer as Brody Weston, a junior who Rachel meets at NYADA. It's not hard to figure out what's going to happen there. I'm absolutely loving the addition of Kate Hudson as Rachel's bad-ass dance teacher. She brings something sexy and dangerous to the show that we've never seen before. I suppose she's supposed to be 'Sue' version 2.0, but she's so much better than that. I'm really looking forward to seeing what her role in the series will be, I just know it's going to be good!

I've never actually read the Possession series but it's definitely hovering near the top of my TBR pile. I just love the covers of these books - they're so simple, yet striking! I think 'Abandon' has the nicest cover yet; I just love this shade of pink! Absolutely cannot wait for this book's release in 2013.
