Waiting on Wednesday #22
Waiting on Wednesday #22.
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Author: Spencer Matthews
Genre: Autobiography
Publisher: Sidgwick and Jackson
Publication Date: 26th September 2013
Synopsis: Charming, funny, a good friend, a less than perfect boyfriend, Spencer Matthews is one of the most talked-about stars of E4's Made in Chelsea. But what lies behind his sometimes controversial behaviour? In Chelsea Boy, his honest and revealing autobiography, Spencer opens up about life before the cameras,including growing up on the beautiful island of St Barths where his parents own the exclusive Eden Rock hotel. He also writes movingly about the devastating loss of his brother on Everest, and the close family ties that ground him. Spencer describes his antics at Eton, where the masters declared they'd never met a boy like him before (this was not entirely a compliment), and introduces us to his friends Proudlock, Jamie, Hugo and Caggie. He takes us from his first kiss to his many romantic adventures (and misadventures) and describes the four loves of his life so far and why things didn't work out. From St Barths to St Tropez, from London to New York, Spencer also gives us glimpses into his world as he gambles with Hollywood stars, runs away from an enraged Middle-Eastern despot, and narrowly avoids death in a powerboat crash. Sensational, entertaining, full of laughter, this is the real Spenny as you've never seen him before.
{ Thoughts }
I am a massive fan of Made of Chelsea and it is hands down the best reality television show on air right now. For those of you that don't know, Made in Chelsea features London's 'elite' socialites as they party and waste away their family fortunes. I've just finished reading Boulle's Jewels by Francis Boulle (another MIC cast member), and it was pretty funny and interesting to read so I can't wait to get my hands on Spencer Matthew's autobiography. Spencer is one of the most popular characters on MIC who's starred in it since day one, he's also the most hated character who is notorious for cheating on his girlfriends and being a general arsehole. Made in Chelsea is evidently scripted so I'm curious to read about Spencer's life and what he has to say about his behaviour on the show.
Fun fact for you all, Tara Keeney, girlfriend (maybe ex-girlfriend?) of Jamie Laing, goes to my school and used to be in my classes. As you can imagine, it was thoroughly bizarre seeing her on MIC and in tabloids on the internet.
So this week, I shared my guilty pleasure with you all, what's everyone else waiting on? Leave your link in the comments below! Any one else a fan of MIC? Let me know if you are :D
