Doctor Who Series 6 Part 2.
So after what seems like the wait of a life time, Doctor Who Series 6 Part 2 is back! Part 1 ended with the unveiling of Doctor River Song's identity which many fans have been speculating since .. well the beginning of time! In case you haven't watched Part 1 yet, I won't tell you who she is, but boy oh boy was it unexpected, and definitely worth the wait! The episode that premieres tonight is called 'Let's Kill Hilter', quite a controversial title that many have been displeased about. From this we can assume that The Doctor and his quest to find Melody will take him back to the 1930/40s so it should be an exciting episode. Here's the BBC press release:
In the desperate search for Melody Pond, the TARDIS crash lands in Thirties Berlin, as the time-travelling drama returns for the second half of the series shown earlier in the year. The Doctor comes face to face with the greatest war criminal in the Universe. And Hitler. Old friendships are tested to their limits as the Doctor suffers the ultimate betrayal and learns a harsh lesson in the cruelest warfare of all. As precious time ebbs away, the Doctor must teach his adversaries that time travel has responsibilities. And he must succeed before an almighty price is paid.
Here's a quick recap for those of you who've forgotten what happened in Part 1. The Doctor was shot by the 'Impossible Astronaut' - a little girl. This little girl seems to have the ability to regenerate - is she a timelord? Amy turned out to be one of the goo flesh - in order to hide her pregnancy - and was far far away in a station somewhere in space, and River Song's identity was revealed.
I'm hoping that these threads/questions will all be solved in the second part of this season as I don't know how long they can continue this particular thread of the story before people get bored as the unveiling of River Song's identity has both left fans hungry for more and also reassured them of some events in the future. I'd heard a rumour that David Tennant would also be featuring in tonight's episode but now it appears that Matt Smith will be joined by Catherine Tate, Billie Piper and Freema Agyeman who all have cameo roles. This is indeed very exciting as we will see the three women who were assistants to The Doctor during the (much-loved) time of David Tennant. Don't miss out!
Doctor Who Series 6 Part 2 returns to our screens tonight at 7:10 p.m. on BBC 1.
More details to be added after I have watched the first episode.
